 Senator Tester Hears From The People On Whitetail Port

US Senator Jon Tester, who serves on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and others, called for a discussion session in Scobey, Tuesday this week, September 7.

About 85 people from around the area attended the meeting which lasted just over an hour.

Several Hearings At City Hall Sept. 21

Five separate hearings, concerning City business, will be held at Scobey City Hall on Tuesday, September 21 at 7 p.m.

At the meeting, a budget hearing previous to fixing the final budget, making appropriations and setting mill levies; a public hearing concerning the resolution for street maintenance in district 19; a public hearing on the permissive medical levy concerning contributions to group health insurance; a hearing concerning the time and place of City Council meetings to  the first and

   

Bar-B-Que Teams Get Ready For Rib Cook-Off

Those who fancy themselves as bar-b-que experts or “dust off the grill” week cooks should get their teams (two to six person teams) ready for the fourth annual Bum Steer Rib Cook Off in Flaxville, Saturday, September 18th.

Five pounds of ribs (whatever kind you like) and a grill need to be provided by each of the teams. Cooking will take place on site and judging (peoples choice) at 6 p.m.

Opheim Community Blood Drive

September 15 is the date set for the next Opheim community blood drive at the First Aid Building in Opheim from 2 to 6 p.m. Anyone over the age of 17 is eligible to donate with parents’ permission.

FIRE TRUCKS

FIRE TRUCKS from Flaxville, Scobey and Whitetail responded to a call early Saturday afternoon a couple miles southwest of Whitetail when this 2010 Ford F-150 Lariat caught fire in high grass. Owned by a bird hunter from Minnesota, the vehicle was totaled, guns and clothes were destroyed and one dog died in the blaze. — Leader Photo, mike
