Wolf Point Hosts Cross Country Meet, Runs In Plentywood Invite

Thursday, Oct. 11, the Wolf Point Wolves’ cross country team hosted their junior high/elementary meet at Lowry Field. Teams from Glasgow, Plentywood, Culbertson, Frazer and Wolf Point competed.
In the junior high race, both boys and girls raced together with the top 10 in each category receiving medals. Kasey Seyfert of Glasgow was the overall winner covering the 1.5- mile course in 9:26 followed by teammate Benji Phillips in 9:32.
Other placers in the boys’ category included: Melvin Rattling Thunder, Brockton, third, 10:00; Marques Whitehorse, Wolf Point, fourth, 10:01; Bryce Legare, Glasgow, fifth, 10:05; Jeremiah Paine, Wolf Point, sixth, 11:28; Matt Reyling, Glasgow, seventh, Tony Kaiser, Glasgow, eighth, 12:06; Rilee Beston, Frazer, ninth, 13:54; Jayson Jackson, Frazer, 10th, 13:57; Dylan [unknown], Culbertson, 11th, 14:46; and Wyatt Miller, 12th, 15:44.
In the junior high girls’ category, Sierra Summers, Wolf Point, claimed first in 9:58. Glasgow's Teagan Fossum, Khloe Krumwiede and Faith Sallee were second, third and fourth with times of 10:11, 10:42 and 10:55 respectively. Brinlie Nielsen, Glasgow, was fifth, 10:55; Demi Aune, Glasgow, sixth, 10:58; Shaedel Adams, Frazer, seventh, 12:22; Jordan Kulczyk, Glasgow, eighth, 12:41; Jami Meirs, ninth, 12:49; Gillian Medicine Cloud, Wolf Point, 10th, 13:58; and Emma [last name unknown], Culbertson, 11th, 14:49.
In the elementary race, boys and girls also raced together with winners in each category receiving prizes. Placing first in the boys’ race was Wolf Point's Trey Fourstar in a close race with Culbertson's Gabe Granada with times of 9:53 and 9:54 respectively. Wolf Point's James Poitra placed third in 11:15; while Frazer's Zander Ackerman was fourth in 11:35; Brian Eder, Brockton, fifth, 11:56; Caleb Blount, Wolf Point, sixth, 12:02; Eli Lambert, Culbertson, seventh, 12:42; Jerek Summers, Wolf Point, eighth, 13:24; Jacob [unknown], Culbertson, ninth, 13:45; Peyton [unknown], Culbertson, 10th, 14:14; and Cameron Beston, Frazer, 11th, 18:21.
In the elementary girls’ race, a trio of Wolf Point runners claimed one-two-three, led by Laresa Dale in 11:19; Cyrenna Standing, second, 11:23; and Journey Erickson, third, 11:41. Culbertson's Fallon SunRhodes was fourth in 12:53. Alex Sutton of Wolf Point was fifth in 16:06.
On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Wolves' varsity, junior high and elementary runners made the trip to Plentywood for the last meet of the year before state this weekend in Helena. The Plentywood course was very challenging with many hills. Teams from Poplar, Brockton, Culbertson, Wolf Point, Circle and Plentywood competed.
Alicia Ledeau won the girls’ varsity three-mile race with a fine time of 22:04. Marissa Irizarry, Wolf Point was 4th in 23:55 while Emma Gourneau, Wolf Point, 9th, 26:36 and Dawndra Greywater, Wolf Point, 10th in 28:44.
In the Varisty Boys race, Wolf Point's Garrett Horsman was the lone varisty boy placing 9th in a talented field with a time of 19:19.
In the Jr. High boys race, Trey Fourstar placed 2nd overall in the 1.5 mile race with a time of 10:35. James Poitra was 5th in 13:26; Caleb Blount, 6th, 13:44; and Jerek Summes, 9th, in 15:36. The top ten placers in each category received ribbons.
