Eleven years after graduating from Wolf Point High School, Jill Dunn achieved professional body builder status at a national competition in Las Vegas, Nev.
“I just turned pro over the weekend,” Dunn said.
She achieved that by finishing in second place at the National Physique Committee USA Championships in Las Vegas, Saturday, July 26.
Dunn, the daughter of Mike and Lisa Dunn, of Wolf Point, advanced to that level by winning several International Federation of Body Builders regional shows.
Dunn, 29, who grew up in Wolf Point, lives in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., about 40 miles east of Los Angeles. Since leaving Wolf Point after high school, she has lived in the Pacific Northwest, returned to Wolf Point for a few years and has now settled in California.
Dunn is 5-foot-1, chiseled, rippling with muscles and self-employed as a personal trainer, competition coach and online trainer.
“I do online worldwide. I have clients all over the world,” Dunn said.
In addition to many clients in the U.S., she has several in Canada, five in Australia, two in the United Kingdom and one in Japan.
She wants to advance her professional career.
“I’m going right into a pro show. I’m a little less than 10 weeks from my pro debut,” Dunn said.
That will be at the Border States IFBB Figure Pro in San Diego, Calif.
“My ultimate goal would be to compete in the Mr. Olympia Show,” Dunn said. That is an invitational only show for professionals. She would have to qualify.
A WPHS basketball and volleyball athlete and summer softball player more than a decade ago, Dunn didn’t start bodybuilding until she bought a gym membership four years ago, at age 25. She competed in her first show in November 2010 and now has completed 13 shows.
Dunn is also director of marketing for eFlow Nutrician.
Her competition team name is Team Zero Gravity.
Dunn is a sponsored athlete by eFlow Nutrition, Max Out Or Get Out Apparel, Ravish Sands, Versa Gripps and Propan.
