Wolves’ Junior High Volleyball Plays In Scobey Jamboree

The Wolves seventh-grade junior high volleyball team played against Poplar and Frontier at the Scobey Jamboree on Sept. 29. The girls won one of three games against Poplar, with scores of 23-25, 25-10, 12-15. They were defeated in both games against Frontier, 18-25, and 12-25.
The top defensive player on the team was Roxanne Vermette and the top offensive player was Alexis DeWitt.
Coach Melissa Cromwell said the girls faced some challenges, but were improving.
“The girls are improving in their spacing and playing much better when attacking the net,” Cromwell said.
The eighth-grade girls played at the Scobey Jamboree against Poplar and Plentywood. The team shut out Poplar with scores of 25-14 and 25-13, but lost both games to Plentywood, 20-25, 22-25.
Shelby Hanks scored 20 points, Jade Black Eagle scored 14, Mary Clark scored seven points, Taylor Hamilton and Kateri Rush each scored three and Aeryn Martin scored two.
The top defensive players were Shelby Hanks and Mary Clark, and the top offensive player was Jade Black Eagle.
The girls will play at the Wolf Point Jamboree on Oct. 6 at 9 a.m.
