The Wolf Point Lady Wolves traveled to Sidney to take on the Lady Eagles Thursday, Jan. 30.
The Lady Wolves had the lead by a margin of one at the end of the first period, then it was all Lady Eagles. They had the lead of 22-17 at the end of the half and increased that lead to 29-21 by the end of the third quarter. The Eagles won by a commanding score of 48-28.
High scorers for the Lady Wolves were junior Jessica Bauer, 8; junior Mariah Weeks, 6; and junior Ky’Lee Driftwood, 6.
On Friday, Jan. 31, the Lady Wolves returned home to take on the Lady Indians from Poplar. They rebounded with a huge win. As expected, the Lady Wolves had the lead from the start and ended the first period with a score of 14-2.
By the half, the Lady Wolves had extended then lead to 25-8. The third period ended with Wolf Point leading 36-12. They really turned it on in the fourth period to close out the game with a win of 52-19, accomplished this without head coach Jeff Neubauer, who was sitting out a one-game suspension stemming from Christmas break. Coach Dave Allen handled the coaching duties single-handedly and did a great job.
Leading scorers for the Lady Wolves were freshman Shelby Hanks, 14; junior Mariah Weeks, 7; and senior Sonica Archdale, 6.
Leading scorers for the Lady Indians were sophomore Angel Bighorn, 7; and senior Tomee Escarcega, 4.
All three ladies squads will host Glendive Friday, Feb. 7, with games at 4 5:30 and 7 p.m.
