Lori Marie Weeks, 39, of Wolf Point, died Friday, July 1, 2013.
She was born Jan. 7, 1974, in Wolf Point to Rita Weeks and Daniel Schauer. She lived most of her life on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. She completed school in 1990 and married Elmer Adams in 1991. Lori and Elmer were foster parents to many children in the area. She kept in contact with many of them.
She graduated from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy and worked as a correctional officer at the Fort Peck Youth Services Center in Poplar for several years. She loved working with the youth and held great compassion for the youth in her care.
On Nov. 7, 2000, Elmarie was born. Lori always referred to her as “her miracle baby.” Lori and Elmarie moved to Bismarck, N.D., in 2002, where she had many friends and adopted relatives. She moved back to Wolf Point in 2011, where she lived until her death.
She is survived by her mother, Rita Weeks of Wolf Point; daughters, Elmarie, Elcha, Carmie Lynn, Tashina and Elsie all of Wolf Point; son, Elmer III of Wolf Point; brothers, Bob, Daniel, Eric, Joseph, Jason and Little Daniel, all of Wolf Point;
Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, July 6, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment was at the Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point.
