Maynard Jones, 57, of Poplar, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Poplar Hospital.
He was born to Earl Jones Sr. and Lillian (Lester) Jones Oct. 24, 1955.
Maynard and Juanita Big Leggins were together for 29 years and had three boys, Fitz, Leland and Maynard; and three girls, Lillian, Farrah and Edith. They were married Dec. 18, 2012.
He also had one older son, Maynard Jr.; and he raised two girls, Saya Big Leggins and Charmayne Necklace.
He loved to play machines and watch his children play basketball. He also enjoyed watching his favorite basketball team, the Lakers. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family, friends and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Edith Big Leggins. He always looked forward to the Fourth of July.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Jones, and children, Fitz, Leland, Maynard, Lillian, Farrah, and Edith, all of Poplar; son, Maynard Jr. of Poplar; adopted daughters, Saya Big Leggins of Browning and Charmayne Necklace of Poplar; brother, Edgar Jones of Poplar; half-sisters, Juanita Doug Youngman and Naomi Montclair, both of Poplar.
His funeral service was held Saturday, March 16, at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment was at the Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
