Ruby Irene (Finkbeiner) DeShaney, 83, of Evansville, Ind., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Casey Healthcare Center in Casey, Ill.
She was born in Miles City on June 23, 1929, to Henry and Augusta I. (Presser) Finkbeiner. She attended St. Mary's of the Woods College in Terre Haute, Ind., and Indiana University in Kokomo, Ind., where she was proud to be a part of the IU Kokomo Singers.
She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl M. DeShaney; and a brother, Walt Finkbeiner.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald James DeShaney of Evansville; daughter, Janice Kahre of Evansville; son, Michael DeShaney of Francisco, Ind.; sisters, Lucille Thomas of Las Vegas, Nev., and Violet M. Zimmerman of Wolf Point; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 18, at Browning Funeral Home in Evansville with Pastor Tom Wenig officiating. Entombment was at Park Lawn Cemetery.
