Louis Ernest "Bunny" Vondal, 70, of Trenton, N.D., died at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston, N.D., on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2012.
He was born July 5, 1942, in Belcourt, N.D., to Frank and Georgianna (Houle) Vondal. He attended school in Wahpeton, N.D., until eighth-grade and then receive his G.E.D. while in the U.S. Army. After two years serving his country, he returned to the Williston area.
Throughout his life, he worked various jobs in construction, heavy equipment, meat packing, 10 years at Mercy Recovery Center as a patient tech and, most recently, as a farmhand for Steve Mortenson in the Trenton-Buford, N.D., area.
He was united in marriage to Charlene (Knutson) for the past 34 years.
He enjoyed old time country music, reading, yard work and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed, Johnny and Butch; and his children, Ashley, Todd and Janey.
He is survived by his children, Colleen, Laurie, Tammy, Adam, Mark, Grant, Stefphanie, Delia and Melissa; 26 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters.
His Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Dec. 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston. Father Russell Kovash officiated and interment was in the Trenton Cemetery. The Everson Funeral Home of Williston is caring for the family.
