Dean W. Larsen, 84, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Culbertson, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in a Boise hospital.
He was born May 11, 1928, in Hampton, Neb., to Harry and Sena Larsen. He and his family moved to Culbertson when he was a year old. He graduated from high school in Cul-bertson.
He worked as an engineer for 25 years with the Washington State Department of Transportation. He has always offered to assist and volunteer for all odd jobs throughout his life.
He belonged to the American Legion and to the Boise Elks Lodge #130.
He enjoyed all sports, especially basketball, football, baseball, pool and ping pong.
He is survived by two brothers, Alan and Don; one sister, Ruby; three sons, Kevin, Kirk and Joe; a daughter, Deborah; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine.
His committal service was held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Rev. Al Beyer officiated and burial was in the Ebenezer Churchyard Cemetery northeast of Culbertson at approximately 11:30 a.m. The Everson Funeral Home of Williston and Culbertson is caring for the family.
