Rose Grainger, 90, of Poplar, died July 22, 2014.
She was born Nov. 14, 1923, to Oscar T. and Borghild T. Peterson in Wheeler, Wis. She was born again in the early 1980s when she gave her life to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  
She worked many jobs throughout her lifetime; however, her favorite job was babysitting. Over the years, she babysat for more than 50 children. She was loved by all who knew her, both young and old.
She loved to quilt, crochet and work in her yard and was also known for her great skills as an artist. In addition, she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, family and friends.  
She made her home in Poplar until 2003 when she moved to Sidney to an assisted living apartment.  
In 2008, she moved (home) to the Poplar Swing Bed Unit. She resided there until her death.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Smejkal of Paradise, Calif., and John Q. Grainger of Helena; daughter, Mary Nesbit of Poplar; sister, Thelma Miller of Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar, Helmer “Fats” and Byron; sister, Lucille
Smejkal; husband, Orval Grainger in 1989; two grandsons, David and Charles; and stepdaughter, Iris Rollins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, at the First Presbyterian Church in Poplar. Celebration of Life services will follow at 6 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point was entrusted with arrangements.
