David Lewis Frederick, 60, of Poplar, died on Sept. 26, 2012, at Billings Clinic in Billings.
Dave was born June 27, 1952, to Lewis and Hattie (Hinman) Frederick in Poplar. He attended Poplar Schools in Poplar.
On Sept. 13, 1973, he married Helen (Beth) Person. To this union a daughter, Teresa Marie, and a son, Jason Lewis, were born.
He served in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Club. He was active in the Poplar AAU Wrestling Club, team roping at local rodeos, he was the president of the Saddle Club and devoted over 20 years to the Poplar Volunteer Fire Department where he became the fire chief before retiring.
His hobbies included camping, reading, cooking, grilling, hunting, fishing, boating and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He operated his own business known as “Dave’s Construction.” Those who knew him would say he could fix anything.
He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help a friend. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and would do anything for them.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Leroy, Joe, Samuel, Mark and Abraham Frederick; and grandson, BJ Granbois.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; a daughter, Teresa Frederick of Livingston; a son, Jason Frederick of Poplar; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Pete Frederick; and five sisters, Ruth Frederick, Mary Frederick, Sarah Thompson, Esther Stuehm and Martha Bridges.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Assembly of God in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
