Norma Nordstrom passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, 2012, at Hildebrant Hospice Care in Greece, N.Y., with her children by her side.
Norma is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth; son, Curtis (Julianne) and their children, Kyle, Zachary and Jacob; son, Kendall (Colleen) and their children, Ryan and Shawn;
daughter, Lynette (Robbie) and their children, Kristen, Emily and Samantha. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn; twin brother, Norman; sister, Marlene; and brother, Melvin.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Emma Stai; a brother, Willard; and a sister, Janice.
Norma was born on Oct. 27, 1938, in Wolf Point, Mont. She grew up on the family farm in northeastern Montana, graduating from Wolf Point High School in 1957.
Norma and Ken married Dec. 27, 1966, at Faith Lutheran Church in Wolf Point, Mont.
They lived in Chicago/Carpentersville, Ill., and Leesburg, Va., before settling in Pittsford, N.Y.
Norma was dedicated to her family, a wonderful wife and loving mother. She loved cooking for family and friends.
Norma volunteered and worked for the Brighton Elementary School as a teacher’s aide for over 20 years. She wore many hats and was appreciated and loved by her co-workers and students.
Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran in East Rochester, N.Y., and volunteered whenever and wherever needed.
Norma will always be remembered by family and friends as a wonderful person who was the first to help out. Norma worked hard, but always had time to enjoy life. Her favorite times were with her husband, children and grandchildren, loving them beyond measure. Norma touched the lives of everyone she met and she will be dearly missed.
Norma's services were held on Sunday, Sept. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in East Rochester, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Norma Nordstrom to the American Cancer Society.
