Betty Delores “Betty Boop” Martin, 43, of Poplar, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Poplar Community Hospital.
She was born April 1, 1969, in Poplar to Thomas and Ruth (Big Talk) Martin.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved being around all her family and friends.
She attended school in Glasgow in younger years with her foster family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burger. She also liked to ride horses on their family’s ranch.
She liked to attend powwows and other gatherings. She liked to play the machines and go to Bingo with family and friends. She liked to listen to music and hang out and swim at the river.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Clifford, Jake, Samson and Allen; a sister, Ethel; and special companion, Darrell Jones.
She is survived by her children, Heather Ann and Christine “Tina” Lynn Jones, James L. Boyd, Felix Terrance Crowe, all of Poplar; four grandchildren; adopted daughter, T.J. Mail; adopted son, Jordan O’ Guin; siblings, Leo, Sylvester Martin and Bernice Chaser, both of Poplar; half-sisters, Loretta of Canada, Martha Black Dog of Fort Kipp; and half-brother, Victor Thomas Martin Jr. of Standing Rock.
Her funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Riverside. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
