Margie M. Squires, 66, died Aug. 5, 2013, at Billings Clinic in Billings.
She was born July 17, 1947, in Glasgow to Jack Fighter and Emma Redd. In 1968, she married Gene Lonz; they lived on the Glasgow Air Force Base.
She graduated from Carroll College in Helena with a double bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology.
She returned home to Wolf Point, where she worked as a social worker for Fort Peck Tribes. She worked for 23 years as a health and disability coordinator for the Fort Peck Head Start program.
She was preceded in death by stepfathers, Ralph Beauchman and Clifford Squires; brothers, Emmett Buckles and Marvin Squires; and sisters, Eloise Squires and Nurna Squires.
She is survived by two children, Cindy Lee “Dolly” Lonz and Mark Warren Lonz, both of Wolf Point; her brother, Denzel Squires of Wolf Point; sister, Vonda Brewster of Billings; and 39 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Oswego Community Hall Saturday, Aug. 10. Burial was at Chicken Hill Cemetery in Wolf Point.
