There is no better way to kick off summer than with some quality brewed beer and a live band. The first annual Wolf Point Brewfest will offer that and more Saturday, June 15.
The event, created by the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, will be held at the Marvin Brookman Stadium from 6 to 11 p.m.
Committee members Aaron Kurokawa, Keri Sansaver, Paul Gysler, JD Stensland, Travis Medlock and Robert Toavs, along with the chamber, have been working since March to organize the brand-new, fun-filled night.
Brewfest will feature beer from 14 different breweries across Montana and music from Funk in the Trunk.
Medlock said Dr. Mark Zilkoski was largely responsible for securing the quality brews. The breweries include Outlaw Brewing, Uberbrew, Lewis and Clark, Blackfoot, Belt, Bowser, Beaver Creek, Missouri Breaks, Carters, Angry Hanks, Red Lodge, Yellowstone, Big Sky, and Bayern.
Medlock said the event was born because the chamber wanted to shine a spotlight on Wolf Point and raise money for a full-time chamber position. He said having the chamber office staffed full-time would ultimately lead to more events and community projects.
The Brewfest is a nighttime-only affair, but the fun will start earlier with a Rods and Rides Car Show, burnout contest and blow-up car auction from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Western Bank’s 100th Anniversary Celebration from noon to 4 p.m.
The community has rallied behind the Brewfest. Western Bank is sponsoring the band and High Plains Motors is providing transportation to and from the event for community members who have had one too many beers. And, for those who get hungry after a drink or two, the Stampede committee will be selling food.
Pre-purchased tickets cost $35 and tickets at the door will be $40. The ticket price includes all the beer a person can (responsibly) drink and can be purchased at Gysler’s Furniture, Doc’Z or Western Bank.
