Possible Homicide Under Investigation By Tribes, FBI

The Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the shooting death of a 45-year-old Wolf Point man.

According to Nora Scheland, FBI Salt Lake City spokesperson, “The FBI and the Fort Peck Tribal Police are investigating a possible homicide of 45-year-old male on or about July 27, 2018, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. There is no threat to public safety at this time, however, as the investigation remains ongoing, no further information will be provided at this time.”
Friends and family have identified the shooting victim as Roger Bissonette Jr.
Wolf Point Police Chief Jeff Harada reported that his office responded at 1:05 a.m. Friday, July 27, to a residence on the 900 block of West Blaine Street following a 911 call reporting that someone had been shot.
The WPPD assisted tribal officers and Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office with the victim of the shooting and securing the scene.
One adult male was arrested by tribal officers. The call for service did not indicate what the charges were, only that one male had been arrested.
The Wolf Point Ambulance also responded.
