Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Mondak area southeast of Bainville on Saturday, Oct. 6, after receiving a report that a male aboard the Amtrak train had a warrant for his arrest, reports Roosevelt County Sheriff Freedom Crawford.
Crawford said that the deputies arrested the man, David Koepke of Reno, Nev., in connection with the North Dakota warrant.
Upon Koepke’s arrest, the Roosevelt County detention officers inventoried Koepke’s baggage and located a large amount of suspected marijuana.
Keopke was charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs and the felony charge of carrying dangerous drugs on a train.
Koepke is currently incarcerated at the Roosevelt County Jail.
