After conducting a national search, interviewing and evaluating the pool of applicants, the Fort Peck Community College board of directors has officially selected Haven Gourneau as the new permanent president of Fort Peck Community College.
Since January, Gourneau has served as the interim president at the appointment of the FPCC board of directors due to the resignation of Dr. Florence Garcia.
FPCC has now solidified the key leadership position of the institution and welcomes the energy and perspective that Gourneau brings to the position.
“I appreciate the FPCC board of directors vote of confidence. Also, the support I’ve received from colleagues, friends, and family has been great. The 27 years of being on the FPCC campus, first as a student and then as an employee have given me first-hand experience in the processes of higher education. I look forward to serving the FPCC campus and our communities,” Haven Gourneau, FPCC president.
A “President’s Welcoming Picnic” is scheduled for Friday, May 9, near the FPCC institutional building on the boulevard in Poplar.
