The Roosevelt County Extension Service will be hosting a webinar-based financial education series starting September through April 2014.
The one-hour sessions will address student loans, debt repayment plans, credit scores, retirement planning, identity theft, financial fraud, long term care insurance and advanced directives.
Carrie Johnson, South Dakota State University Extension, will open the series this year with two sessions addressing student loan-related issues. The first session “Federal Student Loans: Issues for Current and Potential Borrowers” will be on Sept. 25 and the second session on Oct. 2 will address “Repayment Options.”
Additional topics and dates for the fall schedule include:
Oct. 9 – Creating a Debt Repayment Plan
Oct. 16 – Credit Scores and Credit Reports
Dec. 4 – Retirement Planning: Withdrawal Strategies
Dec. 11 – Retirement Planning for Younger Workers
Dec. 18 – Retirement Planning for Those Nearing Retirement: What Does Retirement Mean to You?
Participants will be able to view all of the webinars at the Roosevelt County Extension office at 307 Broadway in Culbertson over the noon hour on the specified dates.
Participants can also register to participate in the webinar as an individual and view the webinars from a home or office computer.
There is no cost for the webinar series WHICH will provide accurate, unbiased financial education.
