Man Left For Dead In Montana Survives, Four Charged

A North Dakota man was allegedly left for dead after one of four defendants charged in conjunction with the crime ordered his murder.
Jeffrey Butler, Nicholas Woodford, Tyler White and James Odeneal have been charged with kidnapping in federal court and that Butler was allegedly behind the plan, calling for the killing of Robert Osterhout in Williston, N.D., on Aug. 12.
It said Osterhout was reportedly beat with brass knuckles, tazed, strangled and cut with a razor blade.
The four men had allegedly lined the inside of Butler’s car with plastic and drove from North Dakota to Montana to dispose of Osterhout’s body.
However, Osterhout wasn’t dead. He made it to a residence in Culbertson and was subsequently hospitalized for multiple broken bones and bruising.
