The Roosevelt County Fair kicked off Wednesday, Aug. 7, with the 2013 style show at the downtown Armory.
New fall fashions for all ages were viewed by many in attendance.
Area businesses helped showcase their fashions for young and old alike. Dark, vibrant colors as well as neutrals are in this season. Almost every piece of clothing radiated sparkles with silver stitching. Silver jewelry and big purses are a must for the season. Boots and large jewelry are also a hot look for the fall. The statement for fall is big and bold.
Stores displaying their clothing lines were The Other Place, All Season’s Sport About, Vanity, Bryan’s, Creekside Clothiers, Hi-Line Sports and Little Muddy Dry Goods.
An extra treat was a hand-sewn garment by Tumbleweed 4-H member Kodi Bilquist, who created a pull-on skirt that was created from different fabrics.
Models this year were Erin, Carson, Brooks and Flint Solem, Renee Oelkers, Carry Vandall, Roxanne Vermette, Ross Helmer, Katie South, Emily Nielsen, Kristen and Bella Petersen, Trinity, Tiara and Quinn Whitmus, Erica Nickoloff, Mariah and Sierra Machart, Peggy and Tige Purvis, Chloe, Ella and Ean Taylor and Kodi Bilquist.
The crowd was delighted by Elizabeth’s Dance Expressions from Williston, N.D. ArieAnna Chandler performed a ballet/lyrical routine to Baby of Mine from Walt Disney’s Dumbo, and Emma Bartee performed a jazz routine to I Want You Back.
Emcee for the night, Ann Ronning, also amused the crowd with her impromptu song of Here Comes Tige.
The evening was concluded with numerous door prizes that were awarded to the crowd from area businesses including Froid Federal Credit Union; Main Street Grocery in Poplar; First Community Bank, The Other Place and King’s Inn Motel of Culbertson; Will’s Office World/Radio Shack, Sethre Appraisal and Friesen’s Floral of Wolf Point; and Blue Rock Products in Plentywood.
