Wyoming Sex Offender Held For Failing To Register

A convicted sex offender from Wyoming appeared in 15th District Court, Wednesday, July 16, for probation violations that include failing to register as a sex offender in Roo-sevelt County and for failing to register as a violent offender.
William B. Debbs Jr., 43, of Casper, Wyo., is listed on the National Sex Offender Registry as a Level 3 sex offender and a “sexually violent predator.”
He was convicted in Wyoming of sexual assault, first-degree and indecent liberties with a minor. The female victim was seven years old at the time of the assault, according to the registry.
The registry also lists Debbs with a Butte address.
Debbs said he was admitting allegations during the admissions hearing, but defense attorney John Wheatcroft said he was reluctant to allow him to do that. Debbs then denied the allegations.
Alleged probation violations also include alleged alcohol and drug use.
