The Culbertson American Legion Auxiliary met Tuesday night, Sept. 4.
Honored guest was Tori Kirkaldie, Girls State delegate, who spoke at the tea that was held in her honor. She spoke of how her week went in Helena at Girls State this past summer and what she learned.
The auxiliary, Cottonwood Club and Women's Club sponsored her and Kate Reid, who was gone Tuesday at a cross country meet.
After her talk, tea, cheesecakes, cream puffs and various drinks were served.
The auxiliary then held their regular meeting. Highlight was the upcoming fall convention in Culbertson Oct. 7. All members are asked to attend; and registration will be at the Culbertson Senior Center starting at 9 a.m.
The annual garage sale will be Oct. 6, with setup on Oct. 5. Chairperson is Diane. Anyone with donations should check with her.
Soldier box project is still going well, and LeEtta Waldhausen reminded the members that food items, personal care items, small books, puzzles, games, cards, etc. are needed. These items can be left at her home or The Other Place.
Anyone who has a change of address for a soldier is asked to notify the group. If a package gets returns, it costs, which has happened. New soldiers’ addresses are always welcome.
Girls State chairperson for Culbertson for this year will be LeEtta and she will get information to the school.
Anyone interested in joining the Auxiliary is encouraged to contact the group. They would be pleased to have your help, and this is a worthy and well-know organization.
To top off the night, the district president spoke and discussed ideas from the state convention.
